City of Oxford Rowing Club Bumps Races
Sat 22nd April
Bumps races on the Isis, held under Torpids rules
Organised by City of Oxford RC, and open to all ARA registered clubs, the CORC bumps are held on the Isis and raced in fours. All four races take place in one day.

Fairbairn Junior Sculls
Mon 24th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls

Lowe Double Sculls
Mon 24th - Tue 25th April
Held over the 2km course from Little Bridge to the posts downstream of the railway bridge. Part of the small boats regatta. Open to mens, womens and mixed crews.

Salgard-Cunha and Thompson (Mixed 2x): Scratched in the 1st round
Coker and Squires (Mixed 2x): Raced 3 rounds: Beat Corpus in the final
Andrews and Pancratz (Men's 2x): Rowed over in the semi finals and Lost to Jesus/Downing in the final

Maiden Sculls
Tue 25th - Wed 26th April
500m side by side race in singles for people who have not entered a sculling race before.

PJH in his single scull: Lost to Adam Dyer (Christ's) by 1 length in the 1st round
TA in his single scull: Lost to Nat Luckhurst (Catz) in the 1st round

Magdalene Silver Pairs
Tue 25th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta for coxless pairs in the chasing format.
The Magdalene Silver Pairs is the more prestigious of the two pairs events.

Foster Fairbairn Pairs
Wed 26th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta for coxless pairs as part of the Small Boats Regatta - raced in the 'chasing' format (boats starting 100 yards apart) from the posts before the motorway bridge to those by the pink house in the Reach.
The small boats races generally attract only a small number of entries - and by regularly entering crews we have had many successes in recent years.

LBC Pair (Men's 2-): Beat Peterhouse (Jacobs/Satchwell) by 3s in the quarter finals and Lost to Christ's (Darby/Davis) by 25s in the semi finals
Weaver/Rackley (Pembroke) (Women's 2-): Lost to Darby/Davis by 39s, lost to Garrod/Shepherd by 22s in the final
Garrod/Shepherd (Men's 2-): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to Darby/Davis (Christ's) by 17s in the final

Head of the Cam
Sat 29th April
A timed headrace on the Cam for college and town crews
Useful early term race practice and the first hint of form for the May Bumps.

BUSA Regatta
Mon 1st May
A knock-out regatta in Nottingham for University Crews
A few of the better college crews occasionally enter this event, racing as Cambridge University. For other universities, this is one of the most important events of the year, as the regatta is a good opportunity to do side-by-side racing on a multi-lane 2K rowing lake.

1st women's VIII (Women's Junior VIIIs): Raced 3 rounds: 5th of 6 crews in the final

City Sprints
Sun 7th May
Fun 400m regatta format sprint in front of the boathouses. Started from stakeboats just before Elizabeth way.
Half a pint of beer for each entrant. Who can say fairer than that?

1st women's VIII (Women's Lents Division 1): beat Girton by 3/4L after crab incident in the semi finals and beat Trinity Hall by 1 1/4L in the final
2nd women's VIII (Women's Lents Division 3): Raced 3 rounds: Winners! Beat Jesus 3 in the final
3rd women's VIII (Women's Lents Division 3): Lost to Jesus 3 in the 1st round
Grad VIII (Mens Lents Division 3): Beat Tit Hall 2 (half a length) in the quarter finals and lost to Jesus 4 (1/4 length) in the semi finals
1st men's IV (CRA Nv 4+): Raced 3 rounds: Beat FaT C (just!) in the final
2nd men's IV (CRA Nv 4+): Lost to City in the quarter finals
3rd men's IV (CRA Nv 4+): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to FaT A By Half a Length in the final
Miscellaneous women's IVs (CRA S3 4+): Beat Simoco in the final

Cambridge Head-2-Head
Sun 7th May
A timed headrace in two parts, length 2x2600m
Beginning of term race practice for many college crews.

Champion of the Thames Eights Head
Sun 21st May
A Head race for eights from the Plough Pub to the Penny Ferry.
A fun head race with prizes for best bumps start, best line round Ditton - as well as for finish position.

FaT vs. BPBC Golf Challenge
Sun 21st May
A golf match held at Cambridge Lakes pitch & putt, between Black Prince and First & Third.
The second annual BPBC vs. FaT golf match - past versus current club members. The format is Matchplay rounds of fourballs, foursomes and singles, with each match won counting as a point for the team total.

Cambridge 99's Regatta

A side by side knock out regatta along the reach over 1000m
A fun summer regatta for college VIIIs. Unfortunately not all that many crews are able to enter, though, because of exam pressures!

1st women's VIII (1st division): lost to Newnham by a length in the semi finals
2nd men's VIII (1st division): Lost to Catz by a length in the 1st round and Lost to Tit Hall by 3/4 length in the plate semi finals
3rd Men's Eight for 99s Regatta (Men's lower division): Beat Wolfson 2 by 1/4 length in the 1st round and Scratched in the 2nd round
4th men's VIII, Grad VIII (Men's lower division): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to Peterhouse II (2 lengths) in the plate semi finals
FaT/Christs/Darwin composite (Mixed VIIIs): Raced 3 rounds: beat St Radegund A easily in the final

May Bumps Getting-on Race
Fri 9th June
The 2000m qualifying race for the May Bumps
Entries in the bumps without positions in the finishing order of the May bumps last year, and up to 10 crews at the bottom of the last divisions, have to compete over a head race to "get on" to the bumps.

Bedford Star Regatta
Sun 11th June
A side by side knock-out regatta over 550 metres
Bedford Star is a two day regatta, with racing over 1000m on Saturday and 550m on Sunday, offering unusual purple and blue ceramic pots to event winners. With the May bumps almost upon us college crews do not usually enter.

The famous Cambridge University May Bumps on the River Cam
The highlight of the college rowing calendar involving a total of over 1500 students - with 81 competitors from Trinity

FaT vs BPBC Cricket Challenge
Sun 25th June
The annual cricket match between First and Third and BPBC, held in 2006 at The Perse School.
A 30-over challenge match between FaT and club old boys, Black Prince Boat Club. FaT seek to emulate Real Madrid by winning the first five fixtures, while BPBC are eager to turn the tables this year.
