Bedford Autumn Fours Head
Sun 17th October
A 2000m timed head race on the Great Ouse
A few college senior IVs generally travel to Bedford for this race practice, and generally perform well.

Cambridge Autumn Head
Sat 30th October
A 2600m head race upstream, from the A14 road bridge to the top finish at Chesterton footbridge
Attracting many town clubs and some college crews, the Autumn Head is a useful form guide for the upcoming University IVs.

University IVs
Tue 2nd - Fri 5th November
A knockout competition for Cambridge College IVs over 2800m (light IVs), 2000m (men's coxed IVs) or 1300m (women's coxed IVs)
For College senior crews, traditionally the most prestigious event of term, and the main focus of the first half of term for the better senior College crews.

Light IV (Light IVs): Lost to Caius (3.2s) in the semi finals
1st men's IV (1st division): Beat LMBC II (9.7s) in the 1st round and Lost to Christ's (1.7s) in the semi finals
1st women's IV (1st division): Beat Downing (21.3s) in the quarter finals and Lost to Emmanuel (4.2s) in the semi finals
2nd women's IV (2nd division): Beat Downing II (4.1s) in the quarter finals and Disqualified against Newnham II in the semi finals
3rd men's IV (2nd division): Lost to Emmanuel III (1.7s) in the 1st round

Cambridge Winter Head
Sat 13th November
A 2600m timed headrace on the Cam
Open to all clubs, for colleges the Winter Head is useful race practice for the 'Fairbairns', and the first experience of racing for some of the novice crews.

Head of the River IVs
Sat 20th November
A processional head race over the University Boat Race Course for Fours and Quads
550 crews enter this national event. With University IVs over, the top college IVs usually travel to London to represent college rowing in this presitigious race.

Novice Fairbairn Cup
Thu 2nd December
A 2700m timed head race on the Cam for Cambridge College novice VIIIs
The main focus for Michaelmas term for all novice crews at Cambridge University - all novices compete.

Fairbairn Cup
Fri 3rd December
A 4300m timed head race on the Cam for College VIIIs
The main focus of the term for all Cambridge college senior crews - all senior college crews compete, and our best novice crews usually do too!

Fairbairn Cup - IVs
Fri 3rd December
A 3200m timed head race on the Cam for College IVs
Subsidary to the VIIIs event, a handful of college IVs usually enter.
