Sponsorship Officer - Jonathan Williams

After a very successful year under Jacob, First and Third finally have a sponsor back on our kit and money coming back into our accounts. If I were to be elected to the role of sponsorship officer I would look to build on the successes of this previous year and try to build a more secure future for our sponsorship. The primary aim of my tenure would be to enter in to talks with Cantab Capital Partners to evaluate how the year has been for them with a view to extended our sponsorship deal. Ideally we'd look to push for a longer term commitment than the original 12 months in order to build a steady income stream for the club, but any options would be considered along with the relevant new and old members of the committee.

Having been closely involved in the process of producing and upholding our contract with Cantab for this year I feel I am in a good position to successfully enter such negotiations. In my role as KSS I had to evaluate our options for branding as well as organise events sponsored by Cantab. As options to offer Cantab for the coming year, the change in the constitution will allow us to potentially get more sponsored kit to more members of the club increasing their presence and giving benefit to more members of First and Third. Given the success of our drinks reception and various invites to club events I'd also look to offer our sponsors a similar set of events to get them really involved in the club and offer them the footfall they no doubt wish for. To this end I will also consider the idea of running events with a wider reach than just the club, for example a drinks event open to anyone from the college or similar ideas.

I hope to work closely with the captains and secretary to ensure that any deal the club enters into will be mutually beneficial to us and our sponsors, and that above all else the huge benefits Cantab Capital's sponsorship have brought to the club are maintained for years to come.
