Jacob Fries - Sponsorship Officer

Having spent this last year as men's captain for the boat club I truly appreciate how important it is for the club to have a steady source of income that will allow not only the purchase of up to date equipment but also for consistent and professional coaching.

If elected I plan to continue following the promising leads that Gonzalo has pursued this year, most notable with Berkley and Ernst and Young. In addition to simply looking for sponsorship, I am plan to try and come up with some fund raising ideas that will hopefully generate some income in the short term whilst I try to secure some longer term sponsorship deals.

My first step in doing this would be to talk to Tony Bernard Shaw (head of College alumni relations), who is sympathetic to the boat club and whom I have been told should be helpful in setting up fund raising initiatives. I am also aware that alumni such as JPD have some fund raising ideas so I will be in contact with him and others. I will also continue to support the alumni recruitment drive that has been started this year and assist in that process any way that I can.

I plan to work closely with the Captains so as to keep them in the loop about any potential money that may be coming into the club and let them know if they are needed to play a role in securing some funding.
