2004 Women's Captain Byelection

Pia Schaefer

Pia noviced in last year's 1st Novice VIII and went on to row with the 1st Lent VIII and 1st May VIII. Over the summer, she participated in the CUW Dev Squad. In May term, Pia (alongside Zoe Michlig and Dilini Nanayakkara) was elected WLBC for the current year.

Aims for 2004-2005

1. Strengthening of squad
   • Integration of novices in senior squad
   • Retention/ "reactivation" of senior rowers
   • Depth through different commitment levels
2. Harmonious squad
   • Squad spirit
   • Good rapport with Iain
   • Good relationship with the Men's Club
3. Quality of rowing
   • Continuity in training through well structured training plans
   • Good coaching

Why do I want to do the job?

• Crucial point for women's club- we need to capitalise on our potential
• I had an amazing time rowing for F&T last year and want to give something back to the Club by being actively involved in its running.
• To make sure that F&T ladies are a respected presence both on and off the water.

What do I bring to the job?

• Strong link to novice squad/ lower boats
• Very communicative
• Motivated/dedicated
• "Surprisingly" organised
