Dan Newton - Kit and Social Secretary
Dan is a sociable chap who enjoys a good drink and a 'knees up'. Partaking of silly sports and other random social events is another forte. He is also in touch enough with his feminine side to appreciate good clothing and wimpy enough to ensure clothes of superior comfort and warmth for today's FaT rower.
SOCIAL:- Formals, and lots of them
- The usual 'our guys, their gals' or 'our gals, their guys' ones with other clubs (the premier league as it were, home and away etc)
- Internal ones to increase FaT unity
- Initiation ones in Michaelmas term to integrate novices into the FaT world
- And then some
- Mainly alcohol related social events - 'FaTents'
- STCS cocktails
- Drumps
- Fireworks 'partay'
- Georgina cruise
- After-formal-dinner WPR type stuff
- Michaelmas ents for novices such as cocktail nights and barbeques
- May week Garden Party
- Other social events (vs. other clubs and internal events)
- Rounders, Footy, Tennis
- Any other sport which takes peoples fancy - croquet anyone?!
- N.b these could also double as cross-training, thereby reducing erg-time???
Socialism is an integral part of FaT and needs to be nourished and allowed to flourish to its full potential. I intend this to be my goal in the coming year.
KIT:- An order a term
- Wide range of choice, and all suggestions listened to
- Affordable - circulate to everyone the sports grant paperwork
- I shall also persuade good looking ladies (and gents) to model the range for the website
It can be exclusively revealed that next years colours to be seen in on the water are dark blue with a gold trim. FaT is the new black. Suiting those with mainly a fairer complexion and blue eyes the colours also have a strange flexibility not apparent in most other club's apparel which lends itself to general all-encompassing trendiness. And at least we don't have pink (or red…) as our colours. I will ensure FaT is the best looking club on the Cam.
