Rachel Munro - Kit and Social Secretary
Although only a first year, I have quickly become involved in the First and Third social scene and believe I have the necessary experience in 'having a good time' to successfully organise next year's social calendar. I am also a girl so know a lot about clothes.
If elected Kit and Social Secretary I propose to:
- Maintain regular kit orders (One per term)
- Resurrect the kit page on the website, including photographs so that people know exactly what they are buying
- Extend the range of FaT underwear making this mandatory attire at club formals!
- Ensure that First and Third kit is affordable and of a standard that will enhance the reputation of the boat club.
- Organise regular formal halls both with other colleges and within the boat club, increasing male/female 'unity'.
- Continue traditional boat club social events including Drumps, STCS cocktails, fireworks party etc. and introduce new events such as club 'cruises' on the Georgina and pub golf.
- Confirm First and Third superiority by challenging other clubs in non-rowing related areas e.g. Rounders and Football matches and keep the Red Scum in their place by bringing back the backing down race.
- By organising a large number of social events in Michaelmas term I hope to promote novice - senior integration providing and extra incentive for people to remain within First and Third.
The social atmostphere of the club plays an integral role in morale at the boat house and an effective Kit and Social Secretary can bring much to the club both on and off the water.
