Club Committee
2001 - 2002 Manifestos
Anna McCreadie: Secretary
About myself:
- I am a first year SPS student.
- I’ve rowed throughout the year in the 2nd women’s VIII.
- I have also played badminton, rugby and football for the college.
Past Experience:
- At school I was president of the debating society. This involved chairing committees, entering teams for debates, organising transport and the end of term dinners for around forty people.
- This term I have been social secretary for the 2nd VIII (a highly sociable crew).
- At school I was secretary of the student council which involved taking minutes and publishing agendas for meetings as well as publicising meetings and getting people to turn up to them.
Why I want to be secretary:
- One of the most enjoyable aspects of being at Trinity so far has been rowing with 1st and 3rd. As I feel I have gained so much from the club I would like to contribute something to it myself. I also feel that I would be good at the job as I have past experience of similar posts.
- I am not an experienced rower but I do have the necessary skills to be secretary as well as a great deal of enthusiasm for the club. Also, as an SPS student I am able to organise my own time to a large extent.
What I will do if you elect me:
- If elected I will ensure that boat club dinners are organised as far in advance as possible so that people aren’t trying to find money right at the end of term when it is running out. I will also try and make dinners as cheap as possible.
- I will Iiase with the captains to ensure that crews are entered for the correct races at the correct status and also ensure that transport is sorted out for those crews.
- I will keep the accounts up to date and accurate and generally help to run the club on a day to day basis, ensuring less hassle for the other members of the committee.
- I will be available and open about committee activity if people have questions about what is going on in the club.
