We came very close to a DQ at Notts City because of that - we had been given a warning for being late to the start and should have had a second for the kit, and it was only because the Starter (who I won't name, because he is still umpiring) was being generous that we didn't get a second. |

That seems more reasonable than the umpires at St Neots who tried to disqualify several single scullers for wearing non-matching kit...
(this regatta also involved the officials reassuring us on several occasions that our opposition, all from York City, had signed in; it turned out several hours later when we tried to actually race them that the whole club had failed to turn up and had never been present) |
