Rowing at University in Cambridge

Ever thought of learning to row?

Rowing is huge in Cambridge: the May Bumps is thought to be the biggest annual student participation sporting event in the country. The facilities at Trinity are some of the best of any Cambridge college and nearly half of all Trinity students learn to row during their time here. Most rowing is done in eights but every student has the opportunity to row both in smaller boats and to learn to scull.

If you would like to find out more about rowing at Trinity, have a look at our Fresher's Guide to Rowing. If someone has tried to convince you not to row, we prove they're spouting s***e in our Rowing Myths Refuted. If something you read on these pages is unclear you may find our Rowing Jargon page helpful. Finally, if you are still wavering or want more information, don't hesitate to contact one of the lower boats captains whose details are below.

If you want to know more about the technicalities of rowing itself, look at our brief introduction to the sport.

Happy rowing!
