IVs A 3200m timed head race on the Cam for College and Invitational IVs 16 events, most recently on the 30th November 2012 Lent Bumps Getting-on Race The 2000m qualifying race for the Lent Bumps 16 events, most recently on the 22nd February 2013 May Bumps Getting-on Race The 2000m qualifying race for the May Bumps 9 events, most recently on the 5th June 2009 2nd Trinity Challenge Sculls A timed sculling race for singles, doubles and pairs over a course from Little Bridge to Peter's Posts, run by First and Third. 12 events, most recently on the 15th March 2011 Battle for the Fleeces A side by side race on the Reach to decide who gets free kit and the honour of rowing in TR4 1 event on 22nd February 2006 Bedford Autumn Fours Head A 2000m timed head race in Bedford 5 events, most recently on the 14th October 2001 Bedford Head A 2000m timed head race on the Great Ouse 4 events, most recently on the 10th February 2008 Bedford Small Boats Head A 2000m head race on the Ouse in Bedford. 2 events, most recently on the 15th April 2007 Boston Marathon 31 miles along the river Witham from Lincoln to Boston. 4 events, most recently on the 21st September 2008 BPBCCC vs Trinity BAs Cricket BPBC's elite cricketing talent take on the Trinity BAs as part of their warm-up tour for next year's defeat by FaT. 1 event on 3rd August 2003 British Indoor Rowing Championship An indoor rowing race, regularly entered by CUBC and the occasional current or former FaT member. 1 event on 12th November 2006 Cambridge Autumn Head A 2600m head race upstream, organised by Rob Roy, from the A14 road bridge to the top finish at Chesterton footbridge. 14 events, most recently on the 20th October 2012 Cambridge Channel Challenge The first race across the English Channel, in coastal IVs, organised by LMBC for Cancer Research UK and the University Sports Complex. 1 event on 20th June 2005 Cambridge Head-2-Head A timed headrace in two parts, length 2x2000m. 28 events, most recently on the 4th May 2013 Cambridge Rowing Triathlon A race lasting two hours comprising cycling, running and rowing 2 events, most recently on the 2nd December 2001 Cambridge Small Boats Head A 2600m timed head race for small boats (sculls, pairs, doubles and quads) 8 events, most recently on the 26th September 2009 Cambridge Winter Head A timed head race over 2500m, from the Motorway bridge to the Penny Ferry pub. 16 events, most recently on the 17th November 2012 Champion of the Thames Eights Head A Head race for eights from the Plough Pub to the Penny Ferry. 10 events, most recently on the 12th May 2013 Christmas Head Head race from the Pike and Eel to Goldie Boathouse 6 events, most recently on the 1st December 2012 Committee curry turned 2k 2k erg side-by-side after imbibing copious amounts of alcohol. 1 event on 3rd October 2005 Cuppers Karting A 2 hour inter-college Go-Karting endurance race at the Whilton Mill karting track in Northamptonshire 2 events, most recently on the 6th February 2003 Cycling Cuppers 10-mile intercollegiate road cycling time trial run by CUCC, open to all members of the University. 1 event on 8th March 2003 FaT v BPBC Football Challenge Annual Club v Alumni football match 4 events, most recently on the 1st October 2011 FaT vs BPBC Cricket Challenge The annual cricket match between First and Third and BPBC, staged at Old Field. 11 events, most recently on the 26th June 2011 Great River Race A 22 mile head race from Ham in West London to Island Gardens on the Isle of Dogs, attracting traditional and modern fixed seat rowing boats and paddle craft. 1 event on 17th September 2005 Head of the Cam A timed headrace on the Cam for college and town crews 13 events, most recently on the 28th April 2012 Head of the Charles A high profile head race upstream on the Charles River, Boston-Cambridge, Massachusetts USA 5 events, most recently on the 22nd October 2005 Head of the Nene An important regional 5000m timed head race 12 events, most recently on the 6th February 2010 Head of the River IVs A processional head race over the University Boat Race Course for Fours and Quads 13 events, most recently on the 14th November 2010 Head of the River Race A huge head race on the Tideway (tidal river Thames) over the University Boat Race course 15 events, most recently on the 17th March 2012 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta 2.5 miles head race on the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, PA 1 event on 27th October 2012 Head of the Trent A 6km head race on the Trent at Nottingham. 2 events, most recently on the 15th February 2009 Intra-FaT Ergo Challenge An 8 x 500m challenge between the senior men's IVs and this year's novices 1 event on 12th November 2003 Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon A 2-day mountain marathon in the Scottish Highlands 1 event on 11th June 2011 Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon, Glen Lochay A Two-Day Mountain Competition for Pairs with Overnight Campsite 1 event on 9th June 2007 Michell Cup The Michell Cup, presented in 1923 in memory of Dr. R. W. Michell, is awarded by the CUCBC to the Boat Club giving the best performance on the river during the course of the academic year. 5 events, most recently on the 12th June 2010 Million Metre Record attempt Atlantic Prince's attempt on the World record for 1,000,000m on an indoor rowing machine 1 event on 6th November 2005 Newnham Short Course A timed head race from the Motorway Bridge to the Railway Bridge (approx 2k) 13 events, most recently on the 2nd February 2013 OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) A 2-day mountain marathon, formerly known as the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon (KIMM) 1 event on 27th October 2012 Pairs Head 4000m on the tideway from the University Stone to Hammersmith Bridge 3 events, most recently on the 17th October 2009 Peck's Poker Party The best poker game ever for Martin's stag do, held at the Maypole. 1 event on 10th January 2009 Putney Bridge to Kings Cross Tube Challenge After a discussion of the optimal tube journey from Putney Bridge to Kings Cross the best route was to be determined by a race, in which no running is allowed, using only tube lines, from Putney Bridge to Kings Cross 1 event on 2nd April 2011 Queens' Novice Ergo Competition A 500m team ergo competition for Novice & Senior VIIIs. 11 events, most recently on the 6th November 2012 Radegund Mile Head Race Head race from the Plough to Two Tees boat shed organised by the St. Radegund Boat Club. 3 events, most recently on the 19th April 2009 Robinson Head A timed head race from The Plough to Peter's Post. 15 events, most recently on the 8th February 2013 Scullers Head The Tideway Head for single sculls, raced over the Championship Course from Mortlake to Putney 1 event on 1st December 2007 The Atlantic Rowing Race A race over 2931 miles from the Canary Islands to the West Indies for coxless pairs and fours 1 event on 30th November 2005 The John Earl Slowness Challenge Races in which people attempt to go slower than JWE in a single 1 event on 24th May 2001 Wallingford Head The race is over 3 miles upstream from Moulsford Railway Bridge to the OUBC boat house at Wallingford Marina. 1 event on 30th November 2008 Welsh 3000's Walking (or running) round all the peaks above 3000' in Wales. Regattas & other knock-out format eventsUniversity IVs A knockout competition for Cambridge College IVs over 2800m (light IVs), 2000m (men's coxed IVs) or 1300m (women's coxed IVs) 18 events, most recently on the 29th October 2012 Barnes and Mortlake Regatta 1000m Tideway regatta, from UL Boathouse to Chiswick Bridge. 1 event on 11th June 2005 Bedford Quarts Regatta A 600m side-by-side race on the Ouse in Bedford, from the suspension bridge to the BRC clubhouse 1 event on 13th July 2003 Bedford Regatta A knock out side by side regatta over 1200m 5 events, most recently on the 15th May 2004 Bedford Star Regatta A side by side knock-out regatta over 550 metres 2 events, most recently on the 11th June 2006 Bewdley Regatta Pictures of the pot-winning VIII which visited Bewdley as part of the successful Summer '99 racing 1 event on 1st July 1999 BPBC Karting A series of races at the Daytona karting track in Milton Keynes involving members of Black Prince Boat Club celebrating website creator Martin Peck's departure from bachelordom 1 event on 10th January 2009 Bristol Avon Regatta A 500m regatta held next to the SS Great Britain on the historic Bristol docks. 4 events, most recently on the 27th August 2006 BUSA Regatta A knock-out regatta in Nottingham for University Crews 4 events, most recently on the 7th May 2007 Bushe-Fox Freshman's sculls A 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls, for 'men in their first year of residence'. 6 events, most recently on the 23rd April 2012 Cam Sprints A fun 400m sprint regatta held by the boathouses 6 events, most recently on the 11th May 2003 Cambridge 99's Regatta A side by side knock out regatta along the reach over 1000m 15 events, most recently on the 20th May 2012 Cambridge Alumni Regatta A small regatta for old-boys (and girls!) crews organised by the University's Alumni Association and raced over about 600 m along the reach. 2 events, most recently on the 27th September 2009 Cambridge Autumn Regatta 600m side-by-side on the reach from the railway bridge to Ditton 6 events, most recently on the 9th September 2012 Cambridge Regatta Racing from the end of the Long Reach to Top Finish (I think? -PWF) 1 event on 1st January 1970 City Sprints Fun 400m regatta format sprint in front of the boathouses. Started from stakeboats just before Elizabeth way. 7 events, most recently on the 5th May 2013 Clare Novice Regatta A side-by-side knock out regatta for Cambridge College novice (beginner) VIIIs 15 events, most recently on the 22nd November 2012 Colquhouns 2km sculling race run by LMBC open to anyone in the university. 5 events, most recently on the 20th April 2010 Emma Sprints 500m up the reach. Fancy dress and bribery are recommended! 4 events, most recently on the 18th November 2012 Fairbairn Junior Sculls A 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls 10 events, most recently on the 25th April 2012 FaT/LMBC Punting Regatta A side by side knock-out race in punts. The course is raced from the upstream side of Trinity Bridge towards St. John's, spinning downstream of the Bridge of Sighs, with a stern finish on the upstream side of Trinity Bridge. 1 event on 17th June 2004 Foster Fairbairn Pairs A 2000m knock-out regatta for coxless pairs as part of the Small Boats Regatta - raced in the 'chasing' format (boats starting 100 yards apart) from the posts before the motorway bridge to those by the pink house in the Reach. 13 events, most recently on the 24th April 2012 Ghent Student Regatta 250m side by side in the Portus Ganda, followed by holding it up hard - round robin followed by a final 1 event on 10th April 2008 Gloucester Regatta An 800m regatta held on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. (Held this year in Ross-on-Wye due to engineering works at Gloucester) 3 events, most recently on the 26th August 2006 Henley Royal Regatta The premier regatta in the UK, founded in 1839, attended by top club, university and school crews from across the world. 12 events, most recently on the 30th June 2010 Henley Veteran's Regatta A regatta held on the weekend following Henley Royal Regatta for veteran crews. 1 event on 9th July 2004 Henley Women's Regatta A 1500m side by side knock out regatta on the Thames passing by the famous Temple Island and finishing near the centre of Henley. 4 events, most recently on the 18th June 2010 Itchen Imperial A coastal race on the same day as Gloucester, 2000m on the Itchen in Southampton. 1 event on 27th August 2005 Kingston Amateur Regatta A 1000m three-lane regatta, held on the River Thames in South West London 2 events, most recently on the 10th July 2004 Lowe Double Sculls Held over the 2km course from Little Bridge to the posts downstream of the railway bridge. Part of the small boats regatta. Open to mens, womens and mixed crews. 7 events, most recently on the 19th April 2010 Magdalene Silver Pairs A 2000m knock-out regatta for coxless pairs in the chasing format. 8 events, most recently on the 20th April 2010 Maiden Sculls 500m side by side race in singles for women who have not entered a sculling race before. 7 events, most recently on the 20th April 2010 Marlow Regatta A knock out multilane regatta over 2000m on the Dorney rowing lake. 4 events, most recently on the 19th June 2010 Metropolitan Regatta Two day, 2000m multilane regatta held at Dorney Lake. Each day is self contained. 5 events, most recently on the 5th June 2011 Molesey Amateur Regatta A fun side by side knock-out regatta over 1000m on the river Thames at Molesey. 2 events, most recently on the 19th July 2003 National Championships A prestigious annual event, including junior and U23 categories, raced as a knock-out regatta over 2000 m 2 events, most recently on the 14th July 2005 Nottingham City Regatta A high profile 2000m multilane regatta at the National Watersports centre in Nottingham 7 events, most recently on the 19th May 2012 Pembroke Regatta A side-by-side knock out regatta on the reach, over 1100m 16 events, most recently on the 16th February 2013 Peter Brandt Sculls 500m side by side race in singles for men who have not entered a sculling race before. 2 events, most recently on the 24th April 2012 Peterborough June Regatta A knock out multilane regatta over 1000m on the Peterborough City Rowing club rowing lake 1 event on 4th June 2005 Peterborough Sprint Regatta A multi-lane 500m sprint race held on the Peterborough Rowing Lake. 3 events, most recently on the 7th June 2009 Peterborough Summer Regatta A knock out multilane regatta over 1000m on the Peterborough City Rowing club rowing lake 5 events, most recently on the 11th August 2012 Peterborough Summer Sprint A 4-lane 500m sprint on the Peterborough Rowing Lake. 5 events, most recently on the 12th August 2012 Poplar Regatta A 2000m 6 lane regatta at the Royal Albert Dock in London 3 events, most recently on the 11th May 2008 Régates en Seine A knock out regatta mainly for Paris universities over a c.500m course by the Eiffel Tower 1 event on 29th May 2011 Ross Regatta A course of variable length, claimed to be 750m but undoubtedly much shorter, held on the ridiculously shallow and twisty River Wye. 3 events, most recently on the 29th August 2005 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta The Canadian Henley, a multi-lane regatta much like the National Championships. 1 event on 9th August 2000 RTT Regatta A Single Sculling regatta open to any of Tom's friends, held over 500m from the 2nd post upstream of Ditton to the top Colquhouns finish. 3 events, most recently on the 17th April 2005 Sparring against CULRC A series of variable length side by side races against the university lightweights 2 events, most recently on the 21st February 2009 St Neots Sprint A 500m race on the Great Ouse at St Neots 3 events, most recently on the 23rd July 2006 Trinity Regatta, Dublin First and Third travel to Dublin for a week's training camp on Blessington lake and racing in the Trinity Regatta 2 events, most recently on the 14th April 2002 Wallingford Regatta Prestigious multilane regatta over 2000m. 2 events, most recently on the 2nd May 2010 Women's Championship Sculls The women's 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls. 4 events, most recently on the 1st April 2008 4.
