Daniel Walker for Kit and Social Secretary

I am a 3rd Theoretical Physicist doing an MSci next year. I noviced in 1999, have rowed every term since and am looking forward to rowing next year for First and Third. I have been involved in society committees (Cambridge Forum and TMS) before and am an organised, motivated person who enjoys having fun. I also have experience of organising drinks parties and bops in Trinity.

If I am elected as Kit and Social Secretary I will...

Kit:

• Do more kit orders than this year (one each term)
• Look into sources of kit with regard to pricing and speed of delivery
• Look into different ways of running the kit order (e.g. pre- buying if float is available)
• Liase with Mercer regarding their logo on kit and branding
• Ensure our kit looks good and is consistent

Socials:

• Organise formal halls with other colleges that are open to everyone (upper and lower boats)
• Get Black Prince Cocktails back up and running
• Re-think the novice-senior socials in Michaelmas
• Make sure the post-dinner bop stays successful and open to people who have not gone to the dinner

I think the Kit and Social Secretary can have a big impact on the morale of the club and the relationship between upper and lower boats. By making rowing fun and giving the club a good image we can attract more people to rowing which will lead to greater success for First and Third.
