City of Oxford Rowing Club Bumps Races
Sat 21st April
Bumps races on the Isis, held under Torpids rules
Organised by City of Oxford RC, and open to all ARA registered clubs, the CORC bumps are held on the Isis and raced in fours. All four races take place in one day.

Bushe-Fox Freshman's sculls
Mon 23rd - Wed 25th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls, for 'men in their first year of residence'.

John Grenfell-Shaw: Lost to Steele (Christ's) by 59s in the semi finals

Peter Brandt Sculls
Tue 24th - Wed 25th April
500m side by side race in singles for men who have not entered a sculling race before.

John Grenfell-Shaw (Novice 1x): Lost to True (Clare) in the 1st round
H in his single scull (Novice 1x): Lost to Irwin (LMBC) by 2 lengths in the 1st round

Foster Fairbairn Pairs
Tue 24th - Wed 25th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta for coxless pairs as part of the Small Boats Regatta - raced in the 'chasing' format (boats starting 100 yards apart) from the posts before the motorway bridge to those by the pink house in the Reach.
The small boats races generally attract only a small number of entries - and by regularly entering crews we have had many successes in recent years. For some value of recent and many...

Little and Large (Men's 2-): Beat Harris-Wilkes (Peterhouse) by 13s in the quarter finals and Lost to Whetnall/McPhail(sic) by "1 length" on the rerow in the semi finals

Fairbairn Junior Sculls
Wed 25th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls

PWF in his single scull (men's): Lost by most of the reach in the final

Head of the Cam
Sat 28th April
A timed headrace on the Cam for college and town crews
Useful early term race practice and the first hint of form for the May Bumps.

Cambridge Head-2-Head
Sat 5th May
A timed headrace in two parts. Normally 2x2000m, but shortened this year to between the railway bridge and the first bumps position.
Early May term race practice for many college crews.

City Sprints
Sun 6th May
Fun 400m regatta format sprint in front of the boathouses. Started from stakeboats just before Elizabeth way.

1st men's VIII (Men's Mays Division1): Beat Kings by a canvas in the final
2nd men's VIII (Mens Mays Division 2): Lost to Selwyn M1 by 1 1/4 lengths in the 1st round and Lost to Kings M1 by 1 1/2 lengths in the plate final
1st men's IV (Men's Mays Division1): Lost to City of Cambridge by 1-2 lengths in the semi finals

Champion of the Thames Eights Head
Sun 13th May
A Head race for eights from the Plough Pub to the Penny Ferry.
The premier on Cam competition of the year. With alcohol based prizes for best bumps start, best line round Ditton - as well as for finish position.

Nottingham City Regatta
Sat 19th May
A high profile 2000m multilane regatta at the National Watersports centre in Nottingham
Four or five Cambridge boat clubs generally travel to Nottingham to experience multilane racing. Racing is held on two separate days.

1st men's IV (Senior3 IV+): Came 4th out of 5 in the semi finals

Cambridge 99's Regatta
Sun 20th May
A side by side knock out regatta along the reach over 1000m
A fun summer regatta for college VIIIs. Unfortunately not all that many crews are able to enter, though, because of exam pressures!

1st men's VIII (1st division): Beat King's M1 by 6 inches in the quarter finals and Lost to LMBC M1 by a foot in the semi finals
2nd men's VIII (With 2 subs) (2nd division): Lost to Caius II by (?) lengths in the quarter finals and Lost to Magdalene by 1 1/2 lengths in the semi finals
4th men's VIII (4th division): Raced 3 rounds: Beat Clare M3 by 1/4 of a length in the final
5th men's VIII (4th division): Lost to Clare M3 by 3 1/2 lengths in the quarter finals and Lost to Darwin M2 by 3 Lengths in the plate final

May Bumps

The highlight of the college rowing calendar involving a total of over 1500 students - with 81 competitors from Trinity
