University IVs

The official CUCBC event for college IVs
Usually held at the beginning of November, the IVs were postponed this year because of severe flooding. They are in an unusual knock out 'chasing boats' format.
Foster Fairbairn Pairs

A college pairs regatta in the unusual chasing format of the University IVs
The event is usually run after the bumps in the last week of Lent Term - but is part of the Small Boats Regatta at the beginning of term due to the Foot and Mouth tow-path closure.
Nottingham City Regatta
Sun 6th May
A high profile 2000m multilane regatta at the National Watersports centre in Nottingham
Four or five college boatclubs generally travel to Nottingham to experience multilane racing. Racing is held on two separate days; we send one men's crew to race in S3 and S4 on Sunday.
Bedford Regatta

A knock out side by side regatta over 1200m
A large event attracting many college, university and club crews from Oxford, Cambridge and beyond
Cam Sprints
Sun 13th May
A fun 400m sprint regatta held by the boathouses
If the sun is shining the Cam sprints can be a fun day by the river, with short exciting races
Cambridge Head-2-Head

A race rowed over two head courses back to back
With several colleges rowing in Bedford on Saturday, few top crews enter. John Earl rows it in his single scull
The John Earl Slowness Challenge
Thu 24th May
Races in which people attempt to go slower than JWE in a single
The challenge is to go even slower than jearl, and thereby win the right to join the Slow People group.
Cambridge 99's Regatta

A side by side knock out regatta along the reach over 1000m
A fun summer regatta for college VIIIs. Quite a few usually enter considering nearly everyone has exams!
May Bumps Getting-on Race

The 2000m qualifying race for the Lent Bumps
Entries in the bumps without positions in the finishing order of the May bumps last year, and up to 10 crews at the bottom of the last divisions, have to compete over a head race to "get on" to the bumps.

The famous Cambridge University May Bumps on the River Cam
The highlight of the college rowing calendar involving a total of over 1500 students - over 100 at Trinity
Down 6 - Bumped by Sidney Sussex, Emmanuel II, Caius II and Jesus II
Down 4 - Bumped by Robinson II, Selwyn II, Newnham III and King's II
Up 1 - Bumped Emmanuel VI and 1st and 3rd VII, bumped by Emmanuel VI
Henley Women's Regatta
Sat 23rd June
A high profile regatta for women's crews held in the run up to the Henley Royal Regatta
Women's Henley often clashes with the Saturday of the May bumps, preventing any Cambridge College crews from competing. This year it was the week after the Mays, and several colleges had entries.
